Chambers Sensei has been training and teaching in the martial arts for over 40 years. His training started with Aikido and he later moved to USA Goju in 1980. He has taught in dojo's in Melbourne, Palm Bay, Indian Harbour Beach, Wimauma, Gibsonton and Riverview. He has developed many black belt students throughout the years all of which are highly dedicated.

Having trained with various USA Goju lineages gives Chambers Sensei a broad base of knowledge including some kata unknown to some. He has worked with the Master Liquori group as well as directly with Master Teller in Gainesville. To deepen his knowledge base he has trained in Okinawan Goju-Ryu. Sensei brings all of this training into the dojo for his students to learn.

Chambers Sensei was trained by Shihan Bob Ostovich who is his karate father. His strong fighting skills are a credit to Shihan Ostovich and Soke Joe Hess who set the example for his lifelong dedication to Goju. All of his weapons knowledge comes from Ostovich / Hess. Weapons training is required for students and helps them go beyond the basics of karate.

Some of Chambers Sensei philosophy on martial arts and karate is very clear to his students. Others considering joining need to understand a few things. Karate is not a game and your goal is not to become a black belt. Students must understand the the black rag around the waist is a by product of hard work and represents one who understands the basics of karate. The real learning begins after black belt. Many have a difficult time with this concept thinking that the goal is to get a belt and then you are done.

Our school is not a tournament school focused on trophies and medals. We may attend a few but training in the dojo rules! We don't have big advertisements and you may have trouble finding us! We are very traditional in nature and you may get a few bruises and hurt your pride! You must be dedicated and be willing to change your life in a positive way. Karate will change you more than you think!

Your brain will be worked. You will have to write papers and take tests just like school or college. We have written requirements and your objectives will be clear!
